Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab witnessed on Monday the release of a new stamp on the occasion of the inauguration of the New Suez Canal.

"The stamp portrays two ships opposing each other in the new and old Suez Canals with wheat spikes in the middle of the design growing toward the sun," the communications minister said.

He added that the design includes a scene of a route between the two canals, which represents the
"road of development."

"The new stamp aims to commemorate this important event in the history of our nation," the minister added.
