Eid Al-Fitr festivities and the annual Bahrain Summer festival have proved a major boon for luxury hotels. Luxurious Five-star hotels have reported a rate of occupancy of 91,6 per cent on Wednesday and Thursday (July 30 -31).
The rate of occupancy at four-star hotels has also hit 97,1% over the same period, the Ministry of Culture announced today. The flux of citizens and expatriates have played a crucial role in revitalizing the internal tourism sector in Bahrain.
Visitors and GCC nationals have also flocked to Bahrain, attracted by the fun-filled Eid activities and exceptional summer shows which turned the Kingdom into a prized tourism destination. The Ministry of Culture had signed a cooperation agreement with dozens of five and four-star hotels to launch special promotions for citizens and residents which boosted the rate of room occupancy and turned Bahrain into a hub for family-oriented tourism.
The ministry has also lined up a rich cultural and artistic programme, including famed Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred, who staged two musical shows at the cultural auditorium on the second and third Eid Al-Fitr days. The sixth edition of the annual Bahrain Summer Festival was also launched last Thursday (July31) under the theme "Summer of Colours".
