Security forces have stepped up efforts to arrest outlaws and criminals in Minya on Friday.
The clampdown led to the arrest of two people who have been involved in riots that erupted in the government after the dispersal of Rabaa camp by supporters of deposed president Mohamed Morsi.
Seven others were arrested for attacking police stations in Minya.
Arrest warrants have been issued for the nine.
Also in Minya, police seized unlicensed weapons and ammunition.
