A makeshift bomb was defused on Thursday at Badrashin railway station in Giza.
Assistant interior minister for the transportation department Sayed Gad el Haq said the police received a tip off about a suspicious object, which turned out to be a bomb.
He added that the bomb was defused using water cannons.
"Two other bombs went off in Sharqiya, cutting off parts of the rail tracks there," Gad el Haq said.
No casualties were reported.
