Manama Social Centre

The new-look Manama Social Centre has today reopened its doors anew after undergoing a major expansion. Social Development Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh patronised the reopening of the facility which was first inaugurated in 1985.
The ceremony was attended by Undersecretary Hanan Kamal, Assistant Undersecretary for Human and Financial Resources Maha Al-Mandeel, Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development Khalid Isaac and other officials.
The minister toured the centre and was briefed on the centre which provides social assistant, supports low-income people and the disabled and grants compensation to home-blaze hit people. The new-look centres provides psychological counselling to families and individuals as part of efforts to promote the stability of Bahraini households and their well-being.
The minister was also updated on the activities and programmes line up by the Children and Youth Club, which is an offshoot of Manama Social Centre. She also visited the Step Centre for Domestic Projects, located at the Juffair-based Manama Social Centre and was briefed on efforts to empower families and individuals economically and socially.
