Moncef Marzouki

Candidate in the Tunisian presidential run-off Moncef Marzouki said he will not challenge the polls results after final ones indicated that Beji Caid Essebsi had won.
Addressing the Tunisians via TV on Monday, Marzouki said he would follow the legal procedures and submit the "many violations" observed to the electoral authorities.
He called on all the Tunisians to accept the election results and not to mar the democratic experience with acts of violence and rejection.
He also urged keeping national unity and avoiding hate speech.
Marzouki added that he would address the Tunisians on Thursday to clarify his stance from all the political issues in the North African country.
Essebsi secured 55.68% of the vote in Sunday's run-off, defeating caretaker president Moncef Marzouki (44.32%), the head of the electoral commission said.
