Former Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki arrived here on Thursday coming from Paris after Israeli authorities deported him.

He was received at the airport by a number of citizens who raised the Tunisia and Palestine flags.

Israel's navy had intercepted a vessel attempting to breach a naval blockade of Gaza early Monday and redirected it to an Israeli port.

Marzouki, along other activists, was on board.

Marianne ship was among the Freedom Flotilla heading for Gaza Strip to draw international community's attention to the blockade.
