Tribes in Matrouh announced that they handed about 3,500 pieces of weapons to the leaders of the western military zone and military intelligence in the framework of the initiative launched by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The tribes still communicate with the leaders of the Armed Forces to hand over the weapons smuggled from Libya which represent a threat to the Egyptian national security, said the presidential council adviser for the national council of Egyptian tribes Ahmed Toram.
He further underlined that they hand over weapons without any pressure
