Cairo - Arab Today
Mauritania is ready to host the Arab summit scheduled for July, Mauritanian Ambassador to Egypt Wadadi Ould Sidi Haiba said.
Speaking following his meeting with Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby on Thursday, Haiba said the 27th ordinary session of the Arab summit will be very important in the path of joint Arab action due to the grave challenges facing the Arab region and the armed disputes some of the countries are enduring.
Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz will hold consultations with Arab leaders on the sidelines of the summit so will Foreign Minister Isselkou Ould Ahmed Izid Bih with his Arab counterparts, he added.
The president will send out the summit invitations to Arab leaders in the coming period, he said, pointing out to Abdel Aziz's visit of Egypt early this month and his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
A coordinating meeting was held today between a Mauritanian government delegation and an Arab League delegation on the summit's technical, administrative and logistic preparations, he said.
