The Mauritanian pilgrims escaped the deadly accident occurred in Mecca on Friday, local media reported.

They were in Medina on Friday and didn't move to Mecca, an official source said, adding all of them were safe.

At least 107 people died and more than 230 people were injured when a crane collapsed in the Muslim holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

Mecca is currently preparing for the annual Muslim pilgrimage.
