Cairo - MENA
A panel tasked with managing funds of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group decided to sack former football icon Mohamed Abu Trika from the board of a travel company, which has been confiscated over ties with the MB.
The panel made the decision as the former footballer tried to halt the activities of the company, As'hab Tours, by not signing related business checks.
The company will be fully run by Misr Travel, panel secretary general Mohamed Yasser Abul Fotouh said.
The panel had frozen the assets of Abu Trika because he co-owned As'hab Tours that was reportedly funding MB operations.
The travel company had been established by Abu Trika and a leader of the MB group. According to findings of the panel, the director of the company, Anas Mohamed Omar el Qadi, is a criminal element of the MB, who is currently held for funding terrorist operations using the company's money.
