Menoufia Governor Hisham Abdel Basat denied on Thursday media reports that the name of El Sadat City will be changed.
These are groundless reports, he told MENA.
He said the remote city, covering 986 kilometers, will be divided in a bid to be able to better serve the residents and to extend more security control over the area.
Around 476 kilometer will be taken from the city to set up an independent township with a separate police station, the governor said.
The new township will include 17 villages.
