A militant cell was arrested in the coastal city of Damietta for planning to commit hostile acts against police officers.

The criminal Investigation Department received information that a seven-member group belonging to the militant Muslim Brotherhood group sought to commit terrorist acts against police and army officers and terrorize citizens.

They were arrested with a raft of weapons in their possession.
