Some militants opened their gun fire Saturday against a security checkpoint southern Sheikh Zuweid in North Sinai.
No casualties were reported.
The militants targeted the checkpoint from a long distance and fled the scene after troops fired back on them, a security sources said.
The forces are mopping up the area searching for the culprits.
