Security forces arrested on Thursday a seven-member terrorist cell, led by deputy headmaster of a preparatory school in Minya governorate.
They were accused of plotting to launch violent acts coinciding with the celebrations of Christmas. They were arrested with Molotov cocktails and circuits connected with cell phones to detonate bombs remotely.
A probe was launched into the incident.
Meanwhile, security forces held a security campaign in Minya governorate in which forces arrested three defendants and seized 32 firearms, 124 ammunition and four cold steals.
