A terrorist was killed Sunday in a chase operation by the Border Guards forces in el Wahat area on the southwestern border, said Military Spokesman Brigadier General Mohamed Samir.
In a statement, the spokesman said that two Toyota cars were spotted yesterday evening while the Border Guards forces were patrolling el Wahat area to secure it.
Immediately, the Border Guards forces chased the two cars and they exchanged fire until they seized the two cars and one of the terrorist elements was killed.
The incident also left a non-commissioned policeman injured and he was transferred to a hospital to receive treatment.
The area is being combed in order to arrest the remaining terrorist elements.
