Cairo Criminal Court

Cairo Criminal Court adjourned to Monday the trial of deposed President Mohammad Morsi and 10 co-defendants of the leading Muslim Brotherhood members over spying charges and leaking classified documents on THE Egyptian national security and the Armed Forces to Qatar.

The decision was made to continue examination of the case's exhibits.

The accusations include leaking important national security documents to Qatari intelligence through the Qatar-based Al Jazeera news channel.

The documents include information about the Armed Forces’ stationing places and the State’s foreign and interior policies.

Investigations revealed that seven of the defendants, who have been working for Al Jazeera, Rasd news network and Egypt 25 TV, are involved in the case and provided Qatari intelligence officer with classified data and documents.

Prosecution argued that many of such documents have been directly delivered to the then president Mohammad Morsi.
