Egypt's Mufti Shawki Allam called on world countries Wednesday to follow the Egyptian example in coexistence between Muslims and Christians.
Religious institutions in Egypt like Dar Al Iftaa and Al Azhar are working with churches to build the Egyptian State, he added.
He made the remarks during a meeting with a high-profile delegation comprising 25 priests and members of the two most prominent Evangelical churches and their branches in the US, Canada and South Africa.
The delegation was accompanied by head of the Evangelical Community Andrea Zaki.
Egypt is going ahead with achieving stability and progress, he asserted.
He pointed to the friendly and good relations between Egyptian Muslims and Christians, denying Western reports about division within the Egyptian society.
