National Days in Bahrain

The Muharraq Governorate held a massive rally at the Khalifa bin Salman Park in Hidd, in the presence of a number of MPs, municipal councilors, and scores of citizens from Muharraq and other governorates.
The festivity is part of the Kingdom of Bahrain's celebrations of its National Days on December 16 and 17, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, the 43rd Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the 15th Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Accession to the Throne.
Muharraq Governor Salman bin Hindi extended utmost congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, on the National and Accession Days.
He lauded the festivities held across the kingdom to mark such occasion which enjoy a distinguished status in the hearts of Bahrainis and expatriates.
He added that celebrations have been held nationwide since the safe return of HRH Premier and the successful parliamentary and municipal elections.
He affirmed Muharraq's unwavering loyalty to the nation and its leadership, noting that the re-appointment of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain has filled the hearts of all Bahrainis with joy and happiness.
He described the Royal Trust bestowed on HRH Premier as a message of joy to all Bahraini citizens and a token of appreciation to him (HRH Premier) for his pivotal role in laying the foundation bases for modern Bahrain.
The festival featured patriotic poems, Al-Ardha and musical shows, Bahraini families' products and national competitions for children.
