Senior Muslim Brotherhood (MB) member Mohamed Ali Beshr will be remanded in detention for further 15 days pending investigations on espionage charges.
Beshr is facing charges of spying in favor of foreign countries with the aim of harming Egypt's political, social and economic position.
He served as local development minister under ousted president Mohamed Morsi.
Morsi was ousted on July 3, 2013 after nationwide protests against his one-year rule.
