NCO officer wounded while dousing Alexandria fire

The security media center of the Ministry of Interior announced on Monday that a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) from the Alexandria civil protection department was wounded while dousing the fire that broke out in a private hospital in Glim area in Alexandria on Monday morning.

The center said four inmates were killed and 19 others suffered suffocation as a result of the fire which caught four stories of the hospital building.

The fire started in the x-ray section of the hospital because of a short circuit.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze while the prosecution started a probe into the incident after arriving at the scene.
