Dr. Hany Abdel Rahman Khedr was appointed as an official spokesman for Egypt's nuclear program, the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy said Tuesday.

In a statement, the ministry urged media outlets to take information about the program only from the new official spokesman.

The ministry will not be responsible for statements, interviews or information issued by any other person, added the statement.
