Kuwait - KUNA
Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning Affairs and Development Hind Al-Sabeeh announced, Wednesday, that new conditions have been set for the approval of civil societies.
Civil societies should meet these conditions before they are announced to the public, Al-Sabeeh clarified during her meeting with residents of Al-Farwaniya governorate upon the invitation of its mayor Sheikh Faisal Al-Homoud Al-Sabah.
She added that an ad hoc committee will be formed of specialists from the ministry, Kuwait University and a group of volunteers, and will meet on a weekly basis to scrutinize applications of new civil societies before they are approved for public announcement.
On multi-purpose banquet halls, Al-Sabeeh cleared that any violations of the Ministry's regulations would subject the halls for closure; as of yet, six banquet halls were closed due to infractions.
Furthermore, Al-Sabeeh added that the ministry is studying increasing the role of centers of social services across the country to provide an all-year-round assistance to the public.
On his part, Mayor Al-Farwaniya said that his office will be receiving ministers to touch base with the governorate's residents to hear them out and solve their problems.
