Police troops have been heavily deployed in streets and squares of the New Valley following a court ruling against former president Mohamed Morsi on spy and prison break charges.

Troops are positioned in large numbers outside and around vital facilities in the city, such as drinking water and power plants, banks and the New Valley Prison.

A wide-scale security campaign to arrest outlaws has, meanwhile, continued in Farafra to make sure desert areas are free of any criminals or terrorists.
