Leader of the National Movement of Algerian Workers (MNTA), Salem Hadidi hoped that the future Constitution would contribute to building a "genuine democracy" in Algeria.
"We hope that the future Constitution would contribute to building a genuine democracy in Algeria," Hadidi told the press at the end of his meeting with Minister of State, Principal Private Secretary to the Presidency of the Republic Ahmed Ouyahia, as part of the consultations on the revision of the Constitution.
Hadidi said that his party has made ten proposals relating mainly to the improvement of the living conditions of citizens, adding that he had "frank" discussions with Ouyahia.
He also proposed to require the non-involvement of parents of presidential candidates in actions against Algeria during the National Revolution and the post-Independence period.
On 15 May, the Presidency of the Republic sent invitations to 150 partners, including national figures, political parties as well as national organizations and associations, following the President Bouteflika's decision made at the Council of Ministers on 7 May.
