No casualties or injuries occurred during a fire that erupted in a main gas pipeline in Damietta, northern Egypt, governor Ismail Abdel Hamid said Sunday.

Abdel Hamid said the pipeline was far from the residential area, adding the main valve has been closed.

A huge fire broke out Sunday evening in the main gas pipeline in Damietta. Firefighting squads rushed to the scene to put out the fire.
