Secretary of the House of Representatives Counselor Ahmed Saad Eldin on Monday denied reports that a fire broke out in the parliament building, noting that such reports are groundless.
In statements to MENA, Saad Eldin said a limited short circuit in a building adjacent to Gate 4 of the parliament complex prompted the fire sirens to ring, with no damage reported.
Sirens were heard in the parliament complex earlier in the day and social media reported that the fire broke out in the parliament building.
