North Sinai governor Abdel Fattah Harhour met on Saturday with residents of the border area in Rafah city who protested overdue compensations for leaving their houses where a buffer zone is being established.
The governor referred the complaints of the 15 residents to a panel to be tackled.
Egypt is setting up the zone along the borders with the Gaza Strip after deadly terrorist attacks took place in the province. Egypt says militants sneak via border tunnels in this area into Egypt.
