A state of high alert was announced in North Sinai on Monday in the wake of the Rafah armored vehicle blast that left three army personnel, including an officer, dead.

All exits of and entrances to the governorate have been sealed off with more forces patrolling streets to check on security, security sources said.

The bomb, planted on a road in Rafah, exploded while the armored vehicle was passing in the area.
