A state of high alert was announced Friday in North Sinai on the eve of the 33rd anniversary of Sinai Liberation Day.

Aircraft conducted reconnaissance over Arish and nearby areas to monitor any suspicious movement, security sources said.

All exits of and entrances to the governorate have been sealed off with more forces patrolling streets to check on security, security sources added.
