An official close to the ongoing Arab League meetings denied that Egypt had withdrawn its nomination for Ahmed Abul Gheit for the post of the Arab League chief.

Consultations will be maintained in this regard following the end of the official session that was resumed to deliver the UAE presidency to Bahrain, the official told MENA.
