An engineer with a municipality in Assuit, south of Cairo, has been arrested by the administrative control authority over receiving a bribe of EGP100,000.

The official, identified as Nadiya S., got the bribe from a businessman who was also captured over graft charges.

The woman's husband was involved in the case. The businessman paid the bribe in exchange of illegal facilitation from the official who is in charge of road paving department in western Assuit city.

They have been referred to the prosecution.
