Secretary-General of OIC Iyad bin Madani

Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Madani addressed the 26th Arab summit in Sharm el Sheikh on Saturday.
"The OIC pins great hopes on the Arab summits," Madani said, adding that the unity and integrity of the Arab world is strength for the whole Islamic nation.
He also stressed that the OIC with its 57 members is a strategic depth for the Arab world.
"The OIC supports the Palestinians who have been facing a racist regime, and preparations are underway to hold an extraordinary Islamic summit on Palestine," he added.
He pointed out that the planned summit will discuss the attacks on Al Aqsa Mosque and the deadlock the peace talks have reached after 20 years.
He also stressed the OIC's support to the AL's role in Syria and Libya and calls for closing ranks in Iraq and Afghanistan.
