The Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, Iyad bin Amin Madani, has extended his thanks and gratitude to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia for their generous and continuous support for the resources of the Islamic Solidarity Fund.

During the opening of the 60th session of the Permanent Council of the Islamic Solidarity Fund of the Organisation at the OIC General- Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah, Mr. Madani praised the role of the countries that have contributed to the fund.

The Saudi News Agency, SPA, quoted the OIC Secretary-General as saying in his speech during the opening of the two-day session, that the Islamic Solidarity Fund has proven its effectiveness through its achievements and contributions for the benefit of Member States and Muslims in other countries in the educational, cultural, health and social fields.
