Organization islamic cooperation

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has pressed for immediate action to end the stifling siege imposed on residents of the Syrian cities of Madaya and al Zabadani and the Yemeni city of Taiz.

The international community should live up to its responsibilities in securing humanitarian aid to save lives of civilians in the three cities, the OIC general secretariat said in a statement Monday.

The OIC is following with great concern the critical humanitarian conditions that lead to the killing of hundreds of citizens due to hunger and illness, the statement added.

The OIC will continue to act to end the suffering of the residents of Madaya, al Zabadani and Taiz, it assured.

Starving safe residents to death constitutes a war crime, the OIC said.

The OIC added that it is following up agreements to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged Syrians and Yemenis.

It urged the world community and members of the OIC and humanitarian organizations in the Muslim world to offer all kind of support for the besieged residents of Madaya, al Zabadani and Taiz.
