Jeddah - KUNA
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani expressed support on Sunday for the political dialogue among Libyan parties which is taking place in Morocco.
The dialogue aims at finding a consensual political solution to end the Libyan crisis, and the formation of national unity government which will be the basis for the return of security and stability to Libya, OIC said in a statement.
OIC chief called on all political parties to make concerted efforts in order to preserve the security and stability of Libya and to place the country's higher interest and unity of its people and territory above all other considerations.
Madani reiterated readiness by the OIC to deploy all efforts to assist the Libyan parties to find a consensual political solution to the situation in Libya.
In the past three days, a new round of talks kicked off in Morocco under sponsorship by the UN and attended by European diplomats.
Last night, Algerian Minister assigned to the talks Abdulqader Masahel said that his country will host next Tuesday another meeting for the Libyan political parties and activists as part of the ongoing efforts to host the talks by the UN mission.
