OIC's ministerial meeting

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)'s Executive Committee convenes in the OIC's Headquarters at the level of OIC Foreign Ministers of member states to discuss confronting the danger of terrorism and extremism.
The meeting has been invited by OIC's Secretary-General Iyad Amin Madani in the light of latest developments and increase of terrorism and violence in some member states, including the terrorist attack in a Peshawar school, the Sinai incident, Corinthia hotel in Libya, and Daesh's brutal execution of Jordan Air Force Captain Muath Safi Al Kasasbeh.
Chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as president of the OIC's current session, the meeting will come up with a strategy and mechanisms to be adopted by the OIC in fighting terrorism and violent extremism, to uncover the roots of terrorism and extremism and the dismantling of ideological discourse of terrorist organisations and to unravel who benefits from such terrorist organisations.
The OIC's Executive Committee comprises the Islamic Summit's Troika: Egypt, Senegal and Turkey and the Troika of Saudi, Guinean, Kuwaiti foreign ministers in addition to the OIC's Secretary-General.
