The House of Representatives voted on Wednesday for striping Tawfiq Okasha of parliament membership.

A two-third majority of 465 lawmakers voted for the decision, said parliament speaker Ali Abdel Aal.

The seat of the 4th constituency of Talkha and Nabrouh of Daqahliya is vacant now.

The step against Okasha followed his meeting with the ambassador of a foreign country.
