The Omani Foreign Ministry summoned Saudi Ambassador to Oman Eid Mohamed al Thaqafi and handed him a memo of protest on the targeting of the Omani ambassador's house in Sanaa by the alliance aircraft, the Omani News Agency reported Sunday.

The Omani Foreign Ministry expressed regret over the incident and said the Sultanate expects an explanation.

The Arab alliance command denied having targeted the diplomat's residence in Sanaa, explaining that they targeted the Interior Ministry headquarters after having received confirmed information that it is being used as a military center from where the militias are running operations.

The Omani ambassador's residence was never targeted by the alliance, Command Spokesman Brg. Ahmed Assiri stressed.
