Internally displaced of Iraq

As many as 16,200 internally displace Iraqi families have returned to their homes in Diyala province, eastern Iraq, after security forces regained control of areas from Daesh militants, a security source said Friday.

The families returned after the security conditions improved, the source said.

They had fled their territories due to the security turmoil since June 2014, the source added.

He said the Iraqi government is acting to solve the problem of the internally displaced people by the end of the year, calling on bodies concerned to start reconstructing the liberated regions.
