The Palestinian Embassy in Cairo extended thanks to Egypt for its relentless efforts in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement Sunday, the Palestinian Embassy said that the decision of the Egyptian authorities to open the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip from one direction on Tuesday and Wednesday came after high-level contacts held by the Palestinian leadership with its Egyptian counterpart over the past period.

Rafah crossing will be opened on Tuesday and Wednesday to allow those who are stranded on the Egyptian side to enter the Gaza Strip.
