Israeli occupation forces detained a Palestinian merchant at Erez checkpoint on Wednesday.

According to Palestinian sources, Sami Tabash, 52, was held at the Israeli side of the crossing while heading for the West Bank.

Palestinians consider Erez checkpoint as a "trap" for the Gaza Strip residents who try to move to the West Bank, whether for trade, medication or even visiting their family members.

According to human rights sources, Israeli occupation forces detained more than 20 Palestinians at the crossing, most of them were traders.
