Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met on Tuesday with Norway's special envoy to the Middle East peace process at the presidential palace in Ramallah.

The two officials discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian territories.

Abbas called for ending the Israeli occupation as soon as possible to resume the Middle East peace talks.

The Norwegian diplomat reiterated his country's support for the Palestinian people and institutions under the Israeli occupation.
