The parliament is keen on practicing its legislative role according to the Egyptian constitution and in a manner that serves the public interest, the statement said.

The parliament called on the European Parliament to support values of democracy and human rights in all partner countries.

It further expressed sorrow for the murder of the Italian student and offered condolences to his family and the Italian parliament.
