General Secretary of the Party of Authentic Path (PVA), Abdelkader Sellam, pleaded Wednesday in Algiers for a semi-presidential regime, as part of the consultations on the Revision of the Constitution.
Speaking after his meeting with Minister of State, Chief of Staff at the Presidency of the Republic, Ahmed Ouyahia, Sellam said he had proposed the adoption of a semi-presidential system as political system of governance.
He added having proposed also to replace in the preamble of the Constitution, the term "war" with "revolution", stressing that the Algerian people had led a revolution against the French colonizer.
Sellam noted also proposing the criminalization of colonization and link the national reconciliation only to the events of the national tragedy in the 1990s, so that it is not be interpreted as willingness to benefit persons who betrayed Algeria from the reconciliation.
Last 15 May, the presidency of the Republic has sent invitations to 150 partners consisting notably of the political parties, national organizations and associations representing various corporations, under the decision of President Bouteflika, taken last May 7th, in the Council of Ministers.
