Cairo Airport authorities arrested on Thursday an Egyptian passenger after trying to smuggle 500,000 dollars to the UAE, an airport official said.

The man was hiding the money in his luggage, the official added.

Under airport currency regulations, passengers should not carry in cash more EGP 5,000 or USD 10,000. and their equivalents.
