Kurdish peshmerga fighters

A senior commander of the Kurdish Peshmerga forces was killed by a bomb planted by a Daesh militant and attached to his vehicle in Kirkuk, Iraqi officials said on Tuesday.

Commander Saleh Dilmani, who was visiting the Peshmerga front-lines, was killed when his car blew up, the officials said.

Peshmerga forces took control of many villages in Kirkuk, but Daesh militants have launched frequent assaults against Kurdish positions.

Also on Tuesday, the Iraqi army killed 30 militants of Daesh in the western province of Anbar.
