Kurdistan's Peshmerga forces on Friday pushed back Daesh militants from 13 villages in Kirkuk province.
The Peshmerga forces were backed by an air cover of the US-led jets.
An area of approximately 150 square kilometers was recaptured from Daesh, Kurdish military sources said.
Leader of the Kurdish Socialist Party Muhammad Haji Mahmoud and seven other Peshmerga militants were injured during the operation, the sources added.
