The Kurdish Peshmerga forces, supported US-led coalition fighter jets, repelled Friday an assault by Daesh militants in northern Iraq.

The coalition fighter jets bombed a site belonging to the Daesh militants, while the Peshmerga forces shelled with heavy cannons and weapons them, causing the death of many militants, a Peshmerga commander said.

Six Daesh militants were killed in the clashes.
