The Executive Committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO)) condemned the assassination of Egyptian Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat.

It reiterated the Palestinians' support of Egypt in face of terrorism that aims at undermining the country's security and stability.

The committee offered, during a meeting under Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, condolences to the Egyptian people and government over Barakat's death.

Barakat was assassinated when a booby-trapped car blew up while his motorcade while he just leaving his house on way to work on Monday.
